Rick Huddle

Rick Huddle specializes in deep, creative thinking and presenting highly technical information in easy-to-understand ways. While at Cadeo, he has authored a new rating system for adjustable speed drives that shows the benefit of this equipment even on constant loads. When presented with the question of how to determine the efficacy of heat pump test procedures, Rick developed a novel approach that helped garner the funding and support of a variety of organizations- not only energy-efficiency advocates, but also heat pump manufacturers and even the US Department of Energy.

Rick strives to solve client problems with pragmatic solutions that offer the biggest impact. For the International Energy Association’s 4E group, Rick pushed for a new air conditioning test procedure that is not only more rigorous, but also less burdensome for manufacturers.

Rick brings 16 years of experience in commercial HVAC, energy efficiency, controls, and retro-commissioning to Cadeo’s emerging tech team. He also spent eight years in education where he honed his skills in communication, storytelling, and making information accessible.

Rick is a registered professional engineer with a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida. When he’s not chasing his young twins around the park, he loves to play ultimate frisbee, guitar, and ukulele.
