Michael Noreika

Michael Noreika brings nearly 20 years of experience in the energy utility industry, including the design, implementation, and evaluation of commercial, industrial, and residential DSM programs for utilities across the US. With his practical experience of the complete cycle of DSM programs, Michael helps stakeholders address complex research objectives, adaptively manage their energy program portfolios, and foster innovation in the evaluation-implementation dynamic.

Michael began his career as an implementer of C&I energy efficiency programs in California. Through this experience, he gained valuable insights into program administration and developed a keen awareness of the interaction between utility program administrators and market actors. Since then, Michael has worked as an evaluation analyst and project manager in the Pacific Northwest and Northeast. For Puget Sound Energy, he led evaluations of their electric and natural gas program portfolio and served as an analyst in the IRP group where he led an end-use data research project to inform DSM planning, load forecast models, non-wires alternatives, DER strategies, and carbon mitigation strategies. Prior to joining Cadeo, Michael was a senior project manager at NMR Group, Inc., where he led impact evaluations, process evaluations, and other energy-related studies for utilities in Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Washington.

Michael received a B.S. in Engineering from Swarthmore College and an M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington. He also served on the International Energy Program Evaluation Conference planning committee for six years. When not at work, Michael enjoys Type II fun as a mountain-ultra-trail runner, skimo racer, and gravel cyclist, training to keep up with his wife and two daughters in the mountains of New Hampshire.
