Will Gorrissen

Will Gorrissen brings a strong background in building science to his role as senior associate at Cadeo. He has extensive experience across a variety of building performance modeling tools. Therefore, he strives to answer key questions about how changes to the built environment cascade through other linked energy systems. Will is comfortable quantifying the broader climate impacts of a building energy code update. However, he also understands how a single change in design will impact the health and well-being of a building’s occupants.

At Cadeo, Will has used modeling tools to predict the energy-saving impacts of energy efficiency interventions on commercial gas packaged rooftop units, evaluate the impact of energy efficiency programs, and support client decision-making around modeling tool adoption. Before joining Cadeo, Will worked on diverse projects in both the private and public sectors. In his previous work, he modeled the interrelationships between the built environment and climate simulations. He also developed LCC optimized paths towards achieving net-zero energy use in schools.

Will holds a bachelor’s degree in Building Engineering from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec. When not thinking about energy and the built environment, Will is likely running the trails of the Selkirk Mountains or working on the off-grid camp resort he is developing with his wife in Southwest British Columbia.
