Sarah Widder Director
As director, Sarah leverages her deep technical knowledge, her understanding of market dynamics and her extraordinary communication skills to lead Cadeo’s engineering team, ensuring work products are both robust and pragmatic. She works closely with clients to understand the technical and market barriers they face and design research and programmatic solutions to help them overcome challenges and transform markets. Sarah’s broad base of experience in evaluating and implementing energy efficiency and resource conservation measures in every market sector includes regulatory development, lab scale R&D efforts, and large-scale field demonstration projects. This perspective, spanning from lab to field to market, guides Cadeo’s work in evaluating new energy efficiency technologies, working with manufacturers to develop new test procedures and rating metrics that better capture and promote energy efficient designs, and developing resources to support successful program implementation.
Sarah has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington and a PhD in Civil Engineering from Washington State University. In her spare time, Sarah can mostly be found training or racing triathlon (in the summer) and cross-country skiing in the winter). She also enjoys backpacking, gardening, harvesting wild plants, and pretty much anything that involves being outside.
