Eric Dimperio Data Scientist
As a data scientist at Cadeo, Eric brings years of expertise to Cadeo’s most challenging quantitative projects. Eric’s experience using machine learning techniques to solve business problems brings a unique skillset to Cadeo, where he recently developed customer scorecards to predict the adoption of residential energy-efficiency technologies. In addition to developing predictive models, Eric has increased the efficiency and accuracy of the processes Cadeo uses to determine program participation levels and market performance from distributor sales data. Though these activities are complex, Eric visualizations and clever analogies effectively communicate their intricacies.
Prior to joining Cadeo, Eric was a consulting director at Corios where he built tools and processes that allowed his clients in the utility, financial services, insurance, and retail industries unlock the power of analytics for gaining deeper understanding of their businesses and better serve their customers. Eric has also worked as a research scientist for the Army Corps of Engineers, where he modeled the movements of animals in certain ecological spaces to ensure that large scale construction projects minimized harm to wildlife. Eric’s diverse research lab work experience also includes working flight training simulations and evaluating the effectiveness of human-robot teams that allow robots to make more human-like decisions and reduce “cognitive overload” in decision makers.
Eric holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science and Cognitive Psychology from Indiana University and B.S. degrees in computer science and in psychology from Arizona State University. Eric enjoys Lego building with his young children and landscaping whenever the temperamental Oregon weather allows.
